Youth Group

What is the Youth Group?
The Youth Group is a regular meeting of children and young people within the parish, usually monthly. It is split into two age ranges: a younger group for children in years 6 to 8 (10-13 years old), and an older group aimed for children in years 9 to 12 (14-17 years old).
The younger group usually runs between 5pm and 6.45pm and the older group between 6.15pm and 8pm. The meeting takes place in St Alphege Hall at Our Lady of Sorrows, Effingham, KT24 5JP.
The younger group involves some discussion or reflection on a specific theme every meeting, interspersed with some fun and games, and some food to round off the evening. The older group typically joins the younger group for the food, followed by a more in-depth conversation on a topic of choice for the month. Afterwards, there is the opportunity for some quiet reflection and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the church.
Future editions of the Youth Group may include some planned events - details of which will be announced in the Parish Newsletter. Stay tuned!

Safeguarding
All adults involved with the care of our children and young people within the parish have full DBS disclosure.
As part of our commitment to safeguarding, we ensure that all children are signed in and out of every meeting by their parent/guardian.
We request that parents notify one of the leaders on entry to the Youth Group of any food allergies that need to be considered. Those who help in the kitchen will only serve food if all ingredients are known.
